The Call

The Call

2010   76cm x 101cm  acrylic

My friend, Marquerete asked me to paint the “BURNING BUSH” and as I read the passage from Exodus chapter 3 I knew I had to name the painting “THE CALL”.  Here in the desert, 40 years after Moses had fled from Egypt, God creatively got his attention, met him where he was at and called him to join God’s rescue plan for His people back in Egypt.

What was an ordinary day – minding sheep, changed Moses’ life forever.  What was an ordinary place – a desert, became Holy Ground. All because God, the great “I AM” was there.

Key excerpts from Exodus 3:5,10,12  NIV – “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground . . .  So now, go. I am sending you . . .  And God said, “I will be with you”.
